NU Green® zero melamine particleboard

The NU Green® zero NAUF melamine particleboard is the most environmentally friendly solution on the market, in terms of sustainable development. NU Green® zero NAUF melamine particleboard is FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council) and EPP certified (Environmentally Preferred Product by the Composite Panel Association [CPA]). It contains 100% recycled and recovered wood fiber (pre-consumer), which saves trees and avoids landfill.
We manufacture NU Green® zero NAUF melamine particleboard using a process whereby no urea formaldehyde is added. The result is a product that is environmentally friendly and exceeds CARB Phase 2 standards. Urea formaldehyde emissions are no greater than levels occurring in outdoor ambient air conditions.
NU Green® zero NAUF melamine particleboard can help you achieve up to six LEED points.
The NU Green® zero NAUF melamine particleboard is available in the industry’s widest selection of sizes and thicknesses. We added a touch of green dye to the core of the NU Green® zero NAUF particleboard so that it may be easily recognized.
The NU Green® zero NAUF melamine particleboard is made using the same standards as our other panels, so you benefit from the same quality and consistency that has become synonymous with Uniboard®. Uniboard®’s resin technology allows NU Green® zero NAUF melamine particleboard to meet ANSI MR 30 standards.
All NU Green® zero NAUF melamine particleboard is available through our extensive network of distributors, making it readily available in all major markets. It is also available in our full collection of colours.
Uniboard®, a leading North American manufacturer of engineered wood products, is proud to have been approved as a manufacturer of Ultra Low Emission Formaldehyde (ULEF) particleboard by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Uniboard®'s use of ULEF resin in the production of its NU Green® zero products has earned the company an exemption from the requirements of section 93120.3(b) of the Airborne Toxic Control Measure to Reduce Formaldehyde Emissions from Composite Wood Products.
"The approval of our application to use the ULEF designation solidifies NU Green® zero melamine's position as a green solution available on the market today," says Lise Plante, Product Manager, Panel Business Unit. "Not only is NU Green® melamine manufactured using 100% pre-consumer recycled wood fibre, but now, through this exemption, it is also recognized as complying with CARB Phase 2, the world's most stringent emission standards.”
The CARB reserves ULEF categorization for products whose formaldehyde emissions are consistently below 0.04 ppm (CARB Phase 2) and NU Green® is consistently below 0.01 ppm.
Flame Spread Index
All Uniboard products (Particleboard, MDF, Thermofused melamine and all NAUF products) meet the Class 3 or C ULC 723-10 (ASTM E84) requirements concerning the Flame Spread Index (between 76 and 200) and the Smoke Development (maximum 450)
